Convert WebP images from the web into JPG or PNG files that work everywhere.

Choose images or drop them hereFiles are processed in your browser and never uploaded.

WebP to JPG converts WebP images into the classic JPG or PNG formats. WebP is a modern format used by many websites, but older software, some photo editors and many upload forms still don't accept it.

Choose JPG for photos and small files, or PNG to keep transparency. Several files can be converted together, and all the processing happens locally in your browser.

Tips for best results

Animated WebP files are converted using their first frame only. If an image saved from a website has a .webp extension, it is a WebP file even if it looked like a JPG online, which is why some apps won't open it until it's converted.

WebP was developed by Google to make web pages load faster. A WebP image is often 25–35% smaller than an equivalent JPG. When you right-click and save a picture from a website, browsers often save the WebP version, which is why so many people end up with .webp files that their photo viewer, Word document or printing kiosk refuses to open. Converting to JPG solves that in a second.

Compatibility and limits

The WebP to JPG tool works in all modern browsers, including Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari and Samsung Internet, on computers, tablets and phones. Images are processed at their full original resolution. Very large photos (above about 50 megapixels) may exceed the memory limits of some mobile browsers, so if a phone struggles, try a computer or resize the image first. Your original file is never modified, because the result is saved as a new file.

Privacy: your files never leave your device

Your images are processed locally in your browser using the HTML5 canvas and WebAssembly. Photos are never uploaded, so personal pictures, ID documents and client work stay on your device. There is no account, and no copies are kept on any server.
