PNG to JPG Converter

Turn PNG images into smaller, universally supported JPG files.

Choose images or drop them hereFiles are processed in your browser and never uploaded.

PNG to JPG converts PNG images (such as screenshots, graphics and exported designs) into the JPG format. JPG files are much smaller for photographic content and are accepted everywhere, from email to government upload portals.

Because JPG doesn't support transparency, you can pick the colour that fills transparent areas (white by default). A quality slider controls the trade-off between file size and detail.

How to use the PNG to JPG tool

  1. Select one or more PNG files.
  2. Adjust the JPG quality and the background colour if needed.
  3. Click Convert.
  4. Download your JPG images.

Features

  • Adjustable JPG quality from 40% to 100%.
  • Background colour for transparent pixels.
  • Batch conversion.
  • Same resolution as the original.
  • Private and free.

Tips for best results

For screenshots that are mostly text, a quality of 90% or more avoids blurry edges. For photos saved as PNG, 80% usually cuts the file size dramatically with no visible difference. If you need to keep transparency and still get a small file, WebP is a better choice than JPG.

PNG is ideal for screenshots, logos and graphics with sharp edges, but for photos it creates very large files, often five to ten times larger than a JPG of the same picture. Converting photo-like PNGs to JPG is one of the easiest ways to meet upload limits on job portals, admission forms and email services.

Compatibility and limits

The PNG to JPG tool works in all modern browsers, including Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari and Samsung Internet, on computers, tablets and phones. Images are processed at their full original resolution. Very large photos (above about 50 megapixels) may exceed the memory limits of some mobile browsers, so if a phone struggles, try a computer or resize the image first. Your original file is never modified, because the result is saved as a new file.

Privacy: your files never leave your device

Your images are processed locally in your browser using the HTML5 canvas and WebAssembly. Photos are never uploaded, so personal pictures, ID documents and client work stay on your device. There is no account, and no copies are kept on any server.
