Rotate & Flip Image

Fix sideways photos, or mirror an image horizontally or vertically.

Choose an image or drop it hereFiles are processed in your browser and never uploaded.

Rotate Image turns a picture by 90°, 180° or 270° and can mirror it horizontally or vertically. It fixes phone photos that show up sideways, scans fed into the scanner the wrong way round, and selfies that need un-mirroring.

Click the buttons and watch the live preview update, then download the result as PNG or JPG. The image is processed at full resolution, right in your browser.

How to use the Rotate Image tool

  1. Select an image.
  2. Click Rotate left, Rotate right or 180°, and Flip if needed, until the preview looks right.
  3. Choose PNG or JPG.
  4. Click Download image.

Features

  • Rotate in 90° steps.
  • Horizontal and vertical flips (mirror).
  • Live preview before you download.
  • Full-resolution output.
  • Private: no upload.

Tips for best results

Front-camera selfies are often mirrored, so 'Flip horizontal' makes text in the picture readable again. If a photo looks correct on your phone but sideways on a computer, its orientation is stored in EXIF data. Rotating and saving it here makes the orientation permanent in the pixels.

Phones record orientation in a hidden EXIF tag instead of rotating the actual pixels. Some websites, printers and older programs ignore that tag, so a photo that looked fine on your phone appears sideways after uploading. Rotating it here and saving a new copy fixes the problem permanently, because the pixels themselves are turned.

Compatibility and limits

The Rotate Image tool works in all modern browsers, including Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari and Samsung Internet, on computers, tablets and phones. Images are processed at their full original resolution. Very large photos (above about 50 megapixels) may exceed the memory limits of some mobile browsers, so if a phone struggles, try a computer or resize the image first. Your original file is never modified, because the result is saved as a new file.

Privacy: your files never leave your device

Your images are processed locally in your browser using the HTML5 canvas and WebAssembly. Photos are never uploaded, so personal pictures, ID documents and client work stay on your device. There is no account, and no copies are kept on any server.

Are images uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser.

Can I rotate a PDF instead?

Yes. Use our Rotate PDF tool for PDF pages.
