Rotate PDF Pages

Fix sideways or upside-down pages and save the PDF with the correct orientation.

Choose a PDF file or drop it hereFiles are processed in your browser and never uploaded.

Rotate PDF permanently changes the orientation of pages in a PDF document. Scanners and phone apps often save pages sideways or upside down. Rotating them in a viewer only changes what you see on screen, while this tool saves the corrected orientation into the file itself.

You can rotate every page at once or only the pages you list, by 90° clockwise, 180° or 90° counter-clockwise. Rotation is lossless: the content is not re-rendered, so text stays searchable and images keep their quality.

How to use the Rotate PDF tool

  1. Select the PDF you want to fix.
  2. Choose the rotation angle.
  3. Leave the pages field empty to rotate everything, or type pages such as 2, 5-6.
  4. Click Rotate PDF and download the corrected document.

  • Saves the orientation permanently in the file.

Tips for best results

If different pages need different rotations, run the tool more than once: rotate one group of pages, download the file, then load that file and rotate the next group. To see which pages are sideways, open the PDF in your browser's viewer first.

Compatibility and limits

The Rotate PDF tool works in current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, Opera and Samsung Internet, on desktop and mobile. Processing speed depends on your device: a typical document finishes in a few seconds, while files with hundreds of pages or very large scanned images may take longer on older phones. Encrypted (password-protected) PDFs must be unlocked before they can be processed. Your original file is never changed, because the result is always saved as a new download.

Privacy: your files never leave your device

Your PDF is opened and processed by JavaScript running in your own browser, using open-source libraries we host ourselves. The document is never uploaded to our server or anyone else's. Once the page has loaded, the tool even works without an internet connection. Close the tab and the file is gone from memory.

Frequently asked questions

Is the rotation permanent?

Yes. The new orientation is saved in the PDF, so it shows correctly in every viewer.

Can I rotate only one page?

Yes. Type its page number in the Pages field.

Does rotating reduce quality?

No. Only the page's orientation setting changes. The content itself is untouched.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The change is made in your browser.

Can I rotate a password-protected PDF?

Unlock it first. Encrypted files cannot be changed without the password.
