Password Generator creates strong, random passwords that are practically impossible to guess or crack. Passwords like 'Ali1234' or your pet's name fall to automated attacks within seconds, while a random 16-character password with mixed characters would take longer than the age of the universe to brute-force.
Passwords are generated on your device with the browser's cryptographically secure random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues). They are never sent over the internet or stored anywhere. You control the length and character types, and you can generate a whole list at once.
How to use the Password Generator tool
- Choose a length. 16 or more characters is recommended.
- Choose which character types to include.
- Click Generate new until you like the result, then click Copy.
- Save it in a password manager, and never reuse it on another site.
Features
- Cryptographically secure randomness.
- Length from 6 to 64 characters.
- Uppercase, lowercase, numbers and symbols.
- An option to exclude look-alike characters (I, l, 1, O, 0).
- A strength meter with an entropy estimate, plus bulk generation.
Tips for best results
Use a different password for every account, because a leak on one site then can't unlock the others. A password manager remembers them for you. Turn on two-factor authentication for email and banking. If a site rejects some symbols, untick Symbols and increase the length to keep the strength high.
Most account breaches happen because of weak or reused passwords. Attackers try millions of leaked and common passwords automatically, so anything based on names, dates or dictionary words is risky. Truly random passwords are the best defence, and generating them on your own device means they are never exposed in transit.
Compatibility and limits
The Password Generator works in every modern browser, on desktop and mobile, and needs no account or app. Results are created instantly on your own device, so you can generate as many as you need, with no daily limits and no watermarks.
Privacy: your files never leave your device
Everything is generated locally in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent to a server, logged or stored.
Frequently asked questions
Are the generated passwords safe?
Yes. They are created on your device using cryptographic randomness and are never transmitted or stored.
How long should a password be?
At least 12 characters, and 16 or more for important accounts.
What does 'bits of entropy' mean?
It measures how unpredictable a password is. Every extra bit doubles the number of guesses an attacker would need.
Why exclude look-alike characters?
It avoids confusion between I, l and 1 or O and 0 when typing a password by hand.
Should I write my passwords down?
It's better to use a reputable password manager.
